Welcome to our Children and Youth Ministry!
We are very excited to offer programming for children and youth that allows them:
- to experience God,
- to become skilled and faithful interpreters of Bible stories,
- to live as followers of Jesus, walking with compassion and justice in our world.
We welcome all ages and stages, and we understand that means sound and movement. But should you want to find a quiet place, our Family Room, located at the front of the sanctuary, has a change table, washroom and play area.
|Fall 2016 Youth Group Events|
Our youth group, for kids aged 11 - 17, is called "St.Aidan’s Youth Exploring Spirituality” (SA-YES). Led by Megan Steffans, our youth explore spirituality and how our faith relates to today’s culture. By volunteering in the church and the community, and by discussing and sharing, they are learning who we are as people of God.
We meet the 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month, and spend time together each Sunday morning. We also have “fund” and “fun”-raising events throughout the year! Our “sleepovers” and retreats are exciting times to connect and learn with other youth in the wider church. Meeting times vary, so if you’re interested, contact the office at 250-477-2089 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
St. Aidan's is an open-minded, open-hearted congregation that believes children are naturally spiritual. We are creating a Sunday morning children's program that values children's curiosity, questions and creativity.
On Sunday mornings, children ages 2 and up meet at the children’s table in the sanctuary. Following Children's Time during the service, our Children and Youth Leaders will gather them up for Sunday School in the church hall. We use the Holy Moly curriculum to share stories and prayers with children from K to Grade 5, while our youngest children are introduced to Christian values and stories through Veggie Tales and engaging play with our Children and Youth Leaders.
- We respect every culture, language, gender, orientation and economic group.
- We celebrate diversity and strive to be a safe, innovative community for all ages.
