Meet St. Aidan’s New Band Leader

André Clouthier has been playing the guitar and singing in church all his life. He began his full time musical life here in Victoria as a trumpet player with the Canadian Armed Forces Band Branch. After the Navy he studied voice in Calgary and eventually joined the Canadian Opera Company Ensemble. Since then he has performed leading roles with orchestras and opera companies all over North America and Japan. He has never stopped playing the guitar, singing favourite folk tunes and fronting many bands including Stealing Dan, a popular cover band in SW Ontario.

André has a passion for teaching voice and helping other singers realize their vocal potential. He has been on the faculty of the esteemed Music Theatre programs at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario, Vancouver’s Harbour Dance Academy and now with the Canadian College of Performing Arts in Oak Bay.

André is very excited to be joining the music making here at St. Aidan’s.

The band will lead music at the third Sunday Service of the month. We will rehearse every other Monday starting on October 10th at 7 pm. All instruments and singers are welcome and encouraged to join us for some fun and thoughtful music making.  André can be reached at andre.clouthier@gmail.com
