CORONAVIRUS RESPONSE NOTICE
The Council has made a decision to close the church in accordance with the B.C. Health Authority recommendation. The Pacific Region Executive Minister has also requested all churches in B.C. to stop public worship regardless of size.
This closure includes public worship, programs, rentals, thrift shop and receiving of thrift shop donations. The office will be closed to the public but the phones will be staffed. Betty Anne and Cheryl are working from home and available for pastoral care conversations.
This is a difficult time. We are worried about each other, about loved ones, about our neighbours and our province and country. We urge you to stay home to help break the spread of COVID-19, and to keep St. Aidan’s in your prayers. We want to be part of your support team.
As you can imagine, this will have real financial implications for everyone. As you are able, please continue to support your church and the other charities to which you give.
This virus will not last forever and we look forward to the time when we can again be the church gathered together. Until then, let us be the church scattered and in the paraphrased words of John Wesley:
Let us from the safety of our own homes do all the good we can, by all the means we can, in all the ways we can, in all the places we can, at all the times we can, to all the people we can, as long as ever we can.
If this is your first time here, we’re glad you’ve stopped by. We are an open and diverse community and member church of the United Church of Canada.
While the central act of our Christian community is Sunday service, the Spirit moves through St. Aidan’s folks in all kinds of activities throughout the week as we live into our core values of Hospitality, Inclusiveness, Spiritual Growth and Reaching Out.
